Peel Regional Police promote Crime Prevention Academy

 

THE Crime Prevention Bureau at Peel Regional Police are offering a comprehensive learning session for interested community members. The Crime Prevention Academy is open to persons 16 years and older who a either live, work or play in the Region of Peel.

The academy is delivered over six consecutive week nights and will teach attendees how to keep themselves, their loved ones, their property and work place safe.

The academy is free of charge.  Seating is limited and will be awarded on a first-come/first-served basis. A certificate of achievement will be presented at the completion of all six sessions.

Lectures in the Crime Prevention Academy will include:

  • Police Introduction and Communications, Crime and Prevention
  • Home Security, CPTED, The Law and You, Burglary
  •  Personal Safety, Travel Safety, Residential Alarms
  • Frauds, Counterfeit Detection, Computer Safety
  • Vehicle Related Crime, Auto Theft, Collisions, Buying a Used Vehicle
  • Dealing with Common Neighbourhood Problems.
