Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society to hold official opening ceremony of its International Settlement office in Chandigarh, India on January 14th. This office provides pre-departure orientation sessions on settlement in Canada to prospective immigrants.
The Chandigarh office provides essential information to prospective immigrants so they’re well-prepared before moving to Canada such as integration services, information and orientation services, labour market information, credential evaluation services, and ESL. “This is a greatly needed service for prospective immigrants as they’ll receive settlement services and employment preparedness so they’re able to integrate into their adopted country,” says Charan Gill, CEO of PICS Society. “They’ll no longer be stepping in the dark. These pre-departure informative services will reduce their fear and difficulty when moving into a new social and economic environment.”
The Chandigarh office will eventually offer full services in language and literacy services, settlement services, employment programs, housing programs, counselling and support services.
The opening ceremony will be held at Moti Mehal, SCO 20 Sector 7C, Chandigarh, on January 14th, 2014 at 3:00 p.m.
