Richmond RCMP recognizes Project Rainbow – Acceptance, Diversity, Inclusiveness

PROJECT Rainbow is a national awareness campaign demonstrating the acceptance, diversity and inclusiveness of the RCMP as a modern employer. As a proud supporter of Project Rainbow, Richmond RCMP say they are now prominently displaying the Rainbow Pride Flag sticker as a reflection of the acknowledgement and support it has for the LGBTQ2S+ community in Richmond.

Visitors to the Richmond RCMP detachment will now see the Rainbow Pride Flag sticker permanently on full display near the entrance, along with the following explanation:

We can be approached without judgement.

You can feel safe speaking to us.

This is a show of support for diversity and inclusion.

We seek to create a positive and safe space for everyone.

We embrace the diversity of the population.

We are Canada’s national police: serving with pride.

Superintendent Will Ng, Officer-in-Charge of the Richmond detachment, says, “All Canadians have the right to live free from discrimination – free from hatred.”

“Anyone who feels unsafe or unsupported can speak to any one of our officers knowing they can do so without judgement,” he adds.
