(Part of interview with Vancouver Police Chief Jim Chu)
VOICE: What are your plans after you retire?
CHU: I don’t have any plans today.
VOICE: No politics?
CHU: (Laughs) I won’t rule anything out, but you know when people ask me, I didn’t try to find my next job while I was still serving as Police Chief. So now that I am announcing I’m retiring, I better start looking. But … I am happy about people asking me what I am doing because as I said like I made sure I wasn’t kind of lobbying to get some favour from one organization or another. … I’ve had some conversations with different people. It sounds like there’s opportunities out there and pretty soon I’ll have to make up my mind.
VOICE: The opportunities are political or policing or what?
CHU: I’ve had conversations with people about other police jobs, running for political office and the private sector. So, interesting conversations and in a few months I will have to make up my mind what I am going to do next.
