LANGLEY RCMP’s Drugs and Organized Crime Section (DOCS) recently executed a search warrant and recovered approximately $1,000,000 worth of stolen property.

On December 17, 2024, the DOCS began an investigation into a series of break-and-enters that had occurred in the Lower Mainland. Investigators identified a possible suspect and related property in the 19700-block of 28 Avenue in Langley.

On January 7, 2025, with the assistance of the Lower Mainland District Integrated Emergency Response Team (IERT), a search warrant was executed and a sophisticated organized property crime operation was uncovered.

Some of the items recovered included:

  • 10 stolen vehicles including trailers, boats and ATVs;
  • Approximately 10,000 liters of gasoline and diesel;
  • A multitude of various power tools;
  • Three loaded firearms; and
  • Numerous electronic devices believed to be involved in the production of fake and fraudulent identity cards and Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN).

Eight individuals were detained in relation to this incident and have since been released pending further investigation.

“The dedication and hard work of the officers of the Langley RCMP’s Drugs and Organized Crime Section has disrupted this criminal operation. The sophisticated design of a large outbuilding resembled a hardware store that had been strategically established as a resale operation,” says Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of Langley RCMP. “Officers continue to work to identify the rightful owners of several hundred seized items in order to advance the investigation.”
