Surrey RCMP investigating fatal hit-and-run in Strawberry Hill area

SURREY RCMP are seeking witnesses and dash camera footage following a fatal hit-and-run collision on Wednesday in the Strawberry Hill area.

On November 15 at approximately 6:56 p.m., police received a report of an injured person located in the intersection of 120A Street and 75A Avenue. Police and Emergency Health Services attended the scene and despite lifesaving measures, the person did not survive.

The initial investigation indicates the pedestrian was crossing the road and was struck by a vehicle that did not remain on scene. The pedestrian was identified as an 81-year-old man.

The Surrey RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team (CCIT) has conduct of the ongoing investigation and is working closely with the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS).

Anyone who was in the area of 120A Street and 75A Avenue on November 15 between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. and has dash camera footage or witnessed the collision is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502.
