Surrey shooting victim succumbs to injuries, IHIT called in

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) on Wednesday took over the investigation into Monday’s shooting after the victim succumbed to his injuries.

On November 29, at 3 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a shooting in a residence in the 9600-block of 137 Street.  Frontline officers located a 45-year-old male with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the hospital, but died of his injuries on Tuesday.

Police said that based on the investigative theory in this initial phase, this incident appears to be a targeted act. IHIT will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP Major Crime Section.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase.
