THE 13th annual Surrey Tree Lighting Festival and Holiday Market presented has been extended to two days. The festival will be held at Surrey Civic Plaza on Saturday, November 25 and Sunday, November 26 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Applications are now open for holiday market vendors, non-profits, exhibitors, sponsors, and performers to participate in the festival.
“On behalf of Council, I am pleased to announce the expansion of the Surrey Tree Lighting Festival into a two-day event,” said Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke on Wednesday. “We are proud to produce events that are so well received by the community and are excited to help create holiday memories for event attendees and residents of Surrey.”
The City said that the Surrey Tree Lighting Festival and Holiday Market has been extended in response to strong interest, support and feedback from the community. This year, the festival will provide two days of free entertainment, children’s activities, food trucks, rides, and photos with Santa.
In 2022, the event drew a crowd of over 20,000 attendees and a larger turnout is anticipated in 2023. The tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, November 25. The illuminated tree will remain on display throughout the weekend and into January 2024.
Organizers welcome participation from small businesses, community organizations, musicians, dancers, and corporations for the upcoming festival. Local artisans can apply to display and sell their products at the Holiday Market, a 200-foot tent on Surrey Civic Plaza.
