KAP’S Cafe, owned by famous Indian comedian-actor Kapil Sharma, at 84 Avenue and Scott Road in Surrey’s Newton area, was hit by bullets for the third time in three months early Thursday morning.
The cafe had also been targeted on July 10 and August 7. The message appears to be: ‘Keep the cafe shut!”
This is the third shooting in Surrey in the past seven days — all reportedly related to extortion.
On October 16 at approximately 3:43 a.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the 8400-block of 120 Street, Surrey. SPS Frontline members located the business that had been damaged by numerous bullets. It was also quickly determined that there were staff on site at the time of the shooting, but fortunately nobody was injured.
Meanwhile, India media reported that two gangsters associated with notorious Indian gangster Lawrence Bishnoi — Goldy Dhillon and Kuldeep Sidhu — have claimed responsibility for the attack on social media.
The shooter(s) released a video of the shooting that was posted on social media (see below).
Goldy Dhillon’s post claims that he had called Kapil Sharma, but he ‘didn’t hear the ring’; hence, the shooting.
The post threatened: “If he still doesn’t hear the ring, the next action will be conducted in Mumbai.”
It was similar to the message that had been posted on social media after last August’s targeting of Kap’s Cafe.
According to Hindustan Times newspaper of India, Goldy Dhillon (aka Gurpreet Singh), who hails from Punjab’s Rajpura in Patiala, initially worked with Goldy Brar before joining the Bishnoi group. In 2022, he fled India and reportedly landed up in Germany. It is believed that he is operating from Europe. India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has offered a reward of Rs.1 million for his arrest.
Ther newspaper said that Goldy Dhillon allegedly extorted a large sum of money from a businessman in Surrey. Last June, he claimed responsibility for the murder of businessman Satwinder Sharma, 56, of Abbotsford.

SPS Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIST) and the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS) will be attending the scene and assisting with the investigation.
The incident is still under investigation.
