METRO Vancouver Transit Police has arrested Pierry Philogène, wanted by police in Montreal for murder.
Transit Police Crime Suppression Team members were able to determine the location of Pierry Philogène, and promptly set out to execute an arrest on the night of October 14. Following a short foot chase, he was arrested with the assistance from Vancouver Police. He remains in custody.
A search incidental to arrest revealed fraudulent ID. Charges for obstruction of a peace officer, and possession of identity documents without lawful excuse were forwarded by Transit Police and approved by the BC Prosecution Service.
Pierry Philogène was wanted by the Montreal Police Service for the premeditated murder of Charles-Olivier Boucher Savard, which happened in Montreal on December 22, 2021. He was named one of Canada’s 25 Most Wanted by the national Bolo Program on October 8.
“Through the proactive work of our Crime Suppression Team, we are proud to have taken a wanted fugitive off of the streets. Transit Police is committed not just to safety on and around the transit system, but that of the greater community as well,” said Constable Amanda Steed.
