JONATHAN Cardinal, a 29-year-old federal sex offender, who failed to return to his Vancouver halfway house last week, has been arrested by police.

Just before midnight on July 7, two uniformed officers noticed Cardinal walking in the Downtown Eastside. Cardinal initially provided officers with a false name, however he was arrested after officers discovered his identity.
