ON Tuesday (April 2) just before 11 a.m., North Vancouver RCMP was called to the 1100-block of Lonsdale Avenue after witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the area. Officers discovered an adult female suffering from gunshot wounds. She was taken to hospital and remains in critical condition.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has now been called in although the victim is on life support.

The area surrounding the scene will remain cordoned off for a significant amount of time, but there is no ongoing risk to the public stemming from this incident. North Vancouver RCMP Serious Crimes investigators are in the evidence gathering phase of the investigation, and are not providing any further information at this time.
