YOUNG people considering what skills they will need for tomorrow’s in-demand occupations will have an interactive, hands-on experience at WorkBC’s Find Your Fit tour stop at the Panorama Ridge Secondary school in Surrey on Jan. 20 – 21, 2015.
Find Your Fit features a variety of interactive career exploration activity stations – including welding, carpentry, accounting and more – offering youth a chance to try their hand at different skills. These youth, who are just beginning to think about potential careers, will be connected with WorkBC’s labour market information, tools and services. Parents, teachers and career counsellors may also benefit from the event as they look for ways to educate and support youth in their career exploration.
Science World will be on-site conducting informational presentations to students about all forms of energy, including the science behind liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Members of the community are invited to attend the event at no cost, on Jan. 20, 2015, from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. The provincewide tour will continue as a key component of the Regional LNG Energy Seminar in Kamloops on Feb. 3 – 4, 2015.
Find Your Fit is part of B.C.’s Skills for Jobs Blueprint commitment to re-engineer education and deliver the skilled workforce B.C.’s growing economy needs.
