Elderly woman attacked in Surrey park

The Surrey RCMP is hunting for a buzz-cut bicyclist accused of trying to sexually assault an elderly woman in a local park.

A tall white man with a buzz cut who was riding a BMX bike tried to sexually assault a 74-year-old woman in Fleetwood Park on Saturday night but she fought him off.

Surrey Mounties are still looking for the attacker, who was wearing a grey and red Echo hoodie and blue jeans at the time.

Police say the incident happened at about 8:15 p.m., in the 15800-block of 80th Avenue. The attacker rode off eastbound on 80th, on his bike.

“Police believe this to be an isolated incident,” Cpl. Bert Paquet said. Anyone with information is asked to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
