Female pedestrian killed in Maple Ridge collision

ON Monday, January 5 at approximately 5:30 a.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck near the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Laity Street in Maple Ridge.

The female pedestrian was subsequently transported to hospital by emergency health services, but has since succumbed to her injuries.

All eastbound on traffic on Lougheed Highway between Laity Street and 216th Street was closed and will be for an indeterminate amount of time.

Police are speaking to the driver of the vehicle, and the investigation is ongoing.

Ridge Meadows RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit has conduct of the investigation with assistance from the Investigative Support Team. The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service is also on scene.
