KPU to open doors for its 4th annual open house

ON March 1, Kwantlen Polytechnic University will open its doors to individuals of all ages for an afternoon of fun, learning and discovery.

Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s fourth annual open house runs from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., and will share all that the university offers, across disciplines, programs and campuses, at a free community event at KPU Surrey. With something for everyone – from flame blowing and a rocket launch, to mind-bending optical illusions, magic shows and henna tattoos – the event is designed to be an exciting showcase of various KPU opportunities, experiences and types of education.

Engaging mini-lectures and presentations are also scheduled and open to everyone, as is a scavenger hunt with prizes up for grabs: $500 tuition waivers, Canucks tickets, an iPad mini and more.

“We are incredibly excited to showcase everything KPU has to offer, from our top-notch programming, to our local and global opportunities for hands-on learning,” says Joanne Saunders, Executive Director of Marketing and Recruitment. “Our annual open house is one of the university’s biggest, open-to-the-public events, and certainly one that we look forward to. We’re thrilled to share the KPU experience with the community.”

The Saturday event will highlight KPU’s arts, business, community and health studies, design, science and horticulture, and trades and technology faculties. Learners of all ages can engage by learning how to be a reporter for a day, studying fluorescent minerals, checking out a welding simulator, cedar weaving and much more.
