COQUITLAM RCMP are investigating after a man’s body was discovered in the Fraser River near Port Mann Bridge.
The body was discovered by a boat operator at about 3 p.m. on March 12, but could not be retrieved until the following morning due to dangerous water conditions. At this time there is no indication of foul play, said Cpl. Michael McLaughlin.
Once the man’s identity is confirmed, his identity will be protected by the Privacy Act unless the death is suspicious and there is a need to further the investigation. Police investigators are working closely with the BC Coroners Service to identify the man and clarify the circumstances surrounding his death.
