INDIA is celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate 75 years of independence of India on August 15, 2022, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to organize an online quiz titled “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM)” from January 1 to 31 for overseas Indian / foreign youths in the age group of 16 to 35 years under the following three categories: PIOs [People of Indian Origin], NRIs [Non Resident Indians], OCIs [Overseas Citizenship on India] and Foreign Nationals.
The quiz will be on the lines of ‘Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz’ (BKJQ) being held by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs as part of Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas celebrations. There will be only one round of quiz this time. Registration for the quiz is expected to be open from November 2021 onwards. The details of registration will be shared in due course.
In each category of participants, i.e., PIOs, NRIs, OCIs and Foreign Nationals, there will be three winners. While the Indian Ministry of External Affairs will present medals to three winners in each category with the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ logo, the Indian Consulate General will present certificates to winners and participants from the cities/provinces falling under the jurisdiction of the Consulate General.
