ON Tuesday, August 1 at approximately 6:50 p.m., Ridge Meadows RCMP frontline members responded to a report of a motor vehicle incident at Lougheed Highway and Spilsbury Street in Maple Ridge in which the driver lost control of their motorcycle and swerved into oncoming traffic colliding directly with a minivan.
BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) attempted life-saving measures on the motorcyclist, however, the 45-year-old female motorcyclist of Port Moody was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) also attended the scene to support the investigation. Roads were closed for approximately five hours between 7 p.m. and 12 a.m.
