AN investigation into a group of drug traffickers, spanning from Vancouver to Chilliwack, Abbotsford and Surrey, has resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of drugs, money and ammunitions, Vancouver Police announced on Friday.
Project Trio was a targeted enforcement initiative aimed at disrupting the supply of drugs coming into the South Slope area of Vancouver. Members of the group are known to be violent and are involved in gang activity in the city.
As a result of the investigation, a search warrant was executed on a North Burnaby residence on March 12 and the following items were seized: digital scales, packaging material, several boxes of 9mm ammunition, approximately six pounds of marijuana, 14 ounces of heroin, 0.25 kilo of cocaine, 20 x oxy 80s, approximately $5000 in cash. At this time, the investigation is ongoing and charges are expected in the days to come, said Sgt. Randy Fincham
