Protestors in B.C. out of control, vandalize MLA Selina Robinson’s office (Thursday update)

PREMIER David Eby on Tuesday tweeted: “Selina Robinson’s office was vandalized last night, which included hateful messages. This is wrong. Peaceful protest cannot include spreading hate.”
Such out-of-control protests in B.C. are causing fear with the public demanding action against those who resort to illegal means.
Robinson, the MLA for Coquitlam-Maillardvilles, resigned as Minister of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills on Monday after the raging controversy about her comments on the Palestinian community refused to die down.
However, she said she would remain an MLA for the rest of her term.
Apparently the protestors are trying to force her to quit as MLA and this would set an undemocratic and ugly precedent as all it will take to get rid of an MLA will be illegal mob action and criminal intimidation of elected representatives.

ON Wednesday, Coquitlam RCMP said that when they became aware of allegations of mischief that had occurred at Robinson’s constituency office located at 1108 Austin Avenue in Coquitlam on Tuesday, they proactively attended the closed office shortly before 1:30 p.m., but the outside of the office had already been cleaned up and there was no physical damage located.

“Anyone who has any information, witnessed this incident or may have video footage is asked to contact the Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2024-3092,” said Cpl. Alexa Hodgins, Media Relations Officer with Coquitlam RCMP.

ON Thursday, Eby tweeted: “Selina Robinson recently received a death threat. Hatred and violence are completely unacceptable in BC. There is no excuse, ever. She is safe and the police are investigating to find the person responsible.”
