Reporter issues notice to Rob Ford

Mayor Rob Ford was slapped with a libel notice late Thursday for televised comments he made about a reporter, who said the remarks amounted to an accusation of pedophilia.

The notice, which also names Zoomer Media’s Vision TV where the Ford interview aired, saying an article he wrote for his newspaper would have to stand.

“I’m comfortable with my decision. I think I made the right decision. I think the mayor forced me into it and it had to be done,” Daniel Dale with the Toronto Star told political affairs specialist John Stall with our Toronto sister station 680News.

“The mayor had made it clear that he was going to continue; he was not going to stop his campaign of lies against me. He not only made a defamatory comment in his interview with Conrad Black. He gave a press conference the next day where he very innocently said that he stands by every word, and then went on a Washington, DC, radio show and repeated many of the same lies.
