Seattle teacher faces child porn charges in BC

An American coach and substitute teacher from a private school in Seattle is facing voyeurism and child pornography charges in British Columbia.

The Seattle Times reports Jason C. Paur, 43, was arrested on Tuesday after students reportedly discovered a video camera during a school-sponsored ski-team trip.

The camera, which the school says belonged to Paur, was reportedly in a room occupied by girls at the Silver Star ski resort near Vernon, B.C.

Neil MacKenzie, a spokesman for the B.C. Criminal Justice Branch, told the newspaper Thursday that Paur was being held on three counts of voyeurism.

He’s also charged with possessing child pornography, accessing child pornography and three counts of breaking and entering with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Paur, who has not yet entered a plea, made his first court appearance Wednesday and is scheduled to return to court next Wednesday. No bail amount has been set.

The Bush School said in a statement that Paur has worked periodically at the school since 1996 and has been placed on administrative leave.
