THE Surrey neighbourhood around the 7100-block of 140 Street was shaken up by the torching of a vehicle at approximately 10:35 p.m. on Wednesday. The wooden fence of one of the houses was damaged by the blaze.

Surrey Fire Service and Surrey RCMP officers attended the scene and doused the flames.

A terrified resident wondered if the vehicle had been used to carry out a gang shooting.

Surrey RCMP told The VOICE in an email on Thursday morning: “This was a vehicle which was stolen earlier in the day. At this time we do not believe it was used to commit any crime.”
