Surrey Art Gallery: Painter’s art is a window into a dreamworld

SAGA Thursday Artist Talk with Vladimir Kolosov

February 1 | 7:30 p.m.—9 p.m. at Surrey Art Gallery

Surrey, BC – Surrey Art Gallery Association announces their February Thursday Artist Talk with Vladimir Kolosov at Surrey Art Gallery on February 1 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. titled “Dreamland: The Infinite Space.” Admission is free.

In this talk, Kolosov will share how visual art reflects inner and outer worlds. Influenced by philosophical concepts including Noosphere (a sphere of thought enveloping the world), Kolosov will share how this, and other philosophical teachings have shaped his painting process and oil, acrylic, and watercolour techniques.

“My art is, in part, a spiritual process of symbolizing and uncovering life experiences. Each time an artist creates, they bring a bit of themselves into it,” says Kolosov. “I believe we travel through time and space, entering a dreamworld, when we create art.”

About the Artist

Maple Ridge-based artist Vladimir Kolosov considers empathy as the foundation of creativity. According to Vladimir, empathy relates to memory and imagination, both of which have the capacity to bring us back to the past or let us see the future.
