A Surrey homeowner was slashed by an intruder at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
The 47-year-old homeowner heard a noise from his carport and went to investigate. He confronted a man riffling through his things and the pair got into an altercation that ended in the resident being slashed with a sharp object.
The man’s wife called police and a police dog attempted to track the intruder from the property in the 9800-block of 138th Avenue, but it lost the scent.
The man was treated in hospital for minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a while male, 35 to 45 years old, about 6 feet tall with a shaved head and wearing a camouflage jacket.
