Tanraj Sohal, sixteen year old high school student from Surrey, has won the 98th BC Closed Chess Championship held in Vancouver from October 11-14,2013. Tanraj is the youngest person ever to win this BC Closed Chess Championship in 98 years history of the tournament. He is now the best chess player in BC regardless of age. BC Closed Championship is the annual most prestigious BC chess tournament where top eight players from BC are selected and invited to play in a round robin tournament. Tanraj also won the 2013 BC Open Chess Championship earlier this year.
