7-year-old hero to be honoured by Squamish RCMP and fire department

ON September 9, seven-year-old Adelaide Prince and her mom were in a serious car accident on Highway 99 near Squamish. The car went down a 30-foot embankment. The mom was injured and trapped in the car.

Adelaide was quick thinking and managed to crawl out of the car, climb up the embankment, and wave down passers-by until someone stopped. Good Samaritans and first responders including Britannia Beach Volunteer Fire Department, BC Ambulance Service and Squamish RCMP sprang into action to rescue Adelaide’s mom.

Adelaide and her mom have since been on the mend from the accident.

Squamish RCMP and Britannia Beach Volunteer Fire Department, moved by Adelaide’s inspirational actions, are honouring her on Thursday, October 8 at the RCMP detachment.
