Maple Ridge collision results in serious injuries

RIDGE Meadows RCMP are seeking witnesses, video surveillance and dash camera footage after a motor vehicle incident that occurred in Maple Ridge on Wednesday afternoon.

On January 31 at approximately 12:40 p.m., frontline officers responded to reports of a serious collision in the 20400-block of Dewdney Trunk Road in Maple Ridge. Police arrived on scene and observed a collision involving a black sedan and a silver SUV.

BC Emergency Health Services (BC EHS) and Maple Ridge Fire Department (MRFD) also attended the scene of the collision. Five people were transported to hospital by BC EHS, four for precautionary measures and one with serious injuries.

Integrated Reconstruction Analysis Reconstruction Team (ICARS) are also on scene. Eastbound lanes of Dewdney Trunk Road are closed between 203 Street and 206 Street and will remain closed as police continue to investigate.

This is currently an active and ongoing investigation and no further information is available at this time, police said.
