ONTARIO: Harjot Singh, 25, of Woodstock charged in August 28 assault with a weapon in Brampton

ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police investigators have arrested and charged 25-year-old Harjot Singh of Woodstock with two counts of assault with a weapon in the incident that occurred on Sunday, August 28 in the area of Steeles Avenue and Mclaughlin Road in the City of Brampton.

He was charged on September 12, and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on November 2.

On August 28 at approximately 1:30 a.m., Peel Regional Police responded to a fight involving weapons between a large group of people in a parking lot at Mclaughlin Road and Steeles Avenue West in the City of Brampton.  There were numerous victims who suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The videos of the August 28 fight that had been circulating showed young South Asian males in violent confrontations.

“Violence in our community will not be tolerated. Members of the Peel Regional Police continue to work tirelessly to bring those responsible before the courts,” said Deputy Chief Marc Andrews.
