Surrey Mounties host “Coffee with Cops”

BEGINNING October 12, the Surrey RCMP will be hosting multiple “Coffee with Cops” events around the city for residents and business owners.

Coffee with Cops provides the public with an opportunity to meet police officers who work in their area and discuss neighbourhood concerns in an informal and neutral space. Modelled after similar initiatives across North America, Surrey’s Coffee with Cops series has continued to receive positive feedback from the community since its debut in the summer of 2015.

“We encourage local residents to meet the police officers who deal with crimes in their neighbourhoods on a day to day basis. These events will provide the members of our Community Response Unit with opportunities to meet residents and have open discussions about real time issues impacting the community,” says Staff-Sgt. Wendy Mehat, Acting Community Support and Safety Officer, who will be hosting the events with her teams. “We look forward to meeting local residents and business owners and hearing their feedback over coffee.”

The events (and coffee) are free and open to all area residents and business owners. Join Mehat and the Surrey RCMP Community Response Unit for coffee and conversation at the following locations (no registration required):
