City of Surrey: 2020 Civic Distinction Awards

THE City of Surrey will be presenting the 2020 Civic Distinction Awards to recognize the leadership of individuals, groups and businesses in the community. Nominations are open from September 15 to October 16 and winners will be honoured at a virtual reception early December.

The Civic Distinction Awards are part of Surrey’s ongoing commitment to programs and initiatives that support the City’s vibrant communities, promote modern urban development, protect and enhance the environment, support community engagement, encourage tourism and celebrate heritage.

“I am honoured to recognize the many outstanding community leaders that consistently deliver remarkable projects in our city,” said Surrey Mayor Doug McCallum. “These outstanding achievements are a testament of the pride our citizens’ take in our City. Their contributions help to make Surrey the vibrant metropolitan center that it is and help foster our culture of excellence.”

This year’s Civic Distinction Awards recognizes achievements in seven categories including: Beautification and Enhancement, Design, Environmental, Heart, Art and Heritage, Mayor’s Choice and Sports Tourism. These awards take place every four years. Award recipients will be recognized by Mayor and Council during the virtual Civic Distinction Awards reception in early December.
