Raymond Howard Gaglardi, 75, of Coquitlam charged with seven additional counts of sexual assault

A Coquitlam man who was a member of several churches has been charged with seven additional counts of sexual assault following a public notification two months ago. Now, Coquitlam RCMP are looking for additional victims who may have had contact with Raymond Howard Gaglardi (see photo).

Gaglardi is white, slim, with grey hair that may have been dyed brown, and is 165 cm (5’5) and about 70 kg (154 lbs).

On July 14, 2020, Coquitlam RCMP announced six charges against 75-year-old Gaglardi and asked for other victims and witnesses to step forward.

“Witnesses and victims have been incredible,’ said Cpl. Michael McLaughlin on Wednesday. “Their courage to speak has led directly to these seven additional charges. We want to assure them, and everyone involved, that our investigation is not over.”

On September 28, Gaglardi was charged with more offences:

* Sexual assault (six counts)

* Sexual exploitation

All nine victims were young men or teenage boys in Coquitlam at the time of the alleged offences. Coquitlam RCMP’s Sex Crimes Unit is now re-focussing on crimes that may have happened in other jurisdictions. One of the avenues investigators are pursuing involves witnesses or victims who may have been part of Glad Tidings Church (Vancouver) or Glad Tidings Summer Camp (Sechelt) in the 1970s and 1980s.

If you think you were a victim, or you know someone who was, call the Coquitlam RCMP’s non-emergency number at 604-945-1550 and ask to speak to the Sex Crimes Unit (file #2019-38332).
