Surrey massage therapist Gudbjartur Bodhi Haraldsson charged with sexual assault

SURREY RCMP announced on Thursday that a massage therapist in Surrey has been charged with sexual assault and requested anyone with additional information to contact police.

On November 14, Surrey RCMP received a report that a woman was sexually assaulted by a massage therapist during the course of her treatment at a clinic located in the 13700-block of 96 Avenue in Surrey.

Surrey RCMP Special Victims Unit assumed conduct of the investigation due to the sensitive nature of the allegations.

On November 25, 50-year-old Gudbjartur Bodhi Haraldsson, who goes by the name Bodhi, was arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault. He was later released on conditions by the courts.

The conditions include that Bodhi Haraldsson is not to provide any personal or professional therapeutic services including any form of massage therapy and body treatment to any person who identifies as a woman.

Police are releasing a photograph of Bodhi Haraldsson to further the ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and request to speak with the Special Victim’s Unit.
