Guru Nanak Food Bank’s 2nd School Supply Drive to support Delta and Surrey school districts’ students

GURU Nanak Food Bank on Tuesday announced its 2nd School  Supply Drive that will take place on Saturday, August 26 at 11188 84 Avenue in Delta and Sunday, August 27 at 15299 68 Avenue from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to support Delta School District and Surrey School District students.

This year’s school drive is particularly special as it marks the first drive in Delta and will be entirely run by school kids who are volunteering with Guru Nanak Food Bank. The organization has decided to donate all the collected supplies to the school districts, recognizing the increased need for assistance and the importance of a strong educational foundation.

To make this school supply drive a success and ensure that every child receives the support they need, Guru Nanak Food Bank is requesting donations of the following essential school supplies:

– Crayons,  colored pencils,  washable markers, Jumbo No. 2 pencils,  pencil grips, pencil sharpeners, glue sticks, erasers, and kid’s scissors.

– Plastic folders, note books, tissues, backpacks, assorted construction paper, lunch box, gift cards, sharpies, sticky notes, red and blue ball pens.

“Education is the key to a better future, and we believe in providing quality education to all. We urge our community members to come forward and donate these much-needed school supplies to support our students’ success,” says the bank’s operational head.

Guru Nanak Food Bank invites everyone to contribute and make a difference in the lives of students in need. Donations can be made in person at the drive locations or through various methods such as e-transfer, cash, credit card, cheque, or online at https://gnfb.ca/our-causes/.
